VOLUME 2 ISSUE 1                                                                                                                           JANUARY, 2010

Well, 2009 is behind us and a new year is upon us. As we look back at 2009, we look back to see rising unemployment, realty/mortgage declines, corporate cutbacks and personal credit declines. Now the question is: what will you resolve to do differently this year to improve your circumstances?

As a business owner and/or professional, what decisions will you make this year to improve your state of affairs?

admin tip

This month we will give you a few tips on the role of your administrator and the qualities you should expect.

Your administrator’s key goal is to relieve you of a great deal of work and stress. Qualities you should look for in a good administrative assistant:

·         Punctuality

·         Dependability

·         Ability to learn

·         Willingness to follow directions

·         Loyalty and Confidentiality

Punctuality – availability (i.e. being there when he or she says he or she will be and on time.)

Dependability – your administrator should be there when he or she is needed most - during that crisis or emergency.

Ability to learn – He or she must be teachable and should embrace the desire to continue learning and improve skills.

Willingness to follow directions – do exactly what is being asked of them. Possess great listening skills and pay careful attention to detail. Then build upon those directions to assist you in running your business or office more smoothly.

Loyalty and Confidentiality – Making sure you are taken care of and your privacy is maintained. Encompassing trust and devotion to you and his or her duties.

Bottom line, a good administrator will make great effort to duplicate, as closely as possible, what his or her employer would do to complete a task if he or she were not absorbed in work that couldn’t be delegated.

Administrative Support:

During these tough economical times, finding good help is not the issue; it is being able to afford it. Oftentimes professionals begin to look into temporary staffing companies or part-time support. Well, there is another option and that is hiring a Virtual Assistant (VA). VA’s are entrepreneurs with extensive administrative experience that provide “virtual” administrative/secretarial services, usually to small business owners and entrepreneurs alike.

KRB Administrative Resources is a VA service company that aids its clients in the area of regaining time and improving their productivity. We specialize in general back office administration services such as word processing, planning, record keeping, and much more. it tip of the month

Small business owners and entrepreneurs mostly find themselves having to be the jack of all trades when running their company; this includes taking care of their own IT issues. Unlike Corporate America, you must tend to the health of your systems. Today’s tip is simple; remove programs you do not use.

Over time you will accumulate a number of different programs that you may or may not use on a regular basis. You may have installed games or software that may have added additional software as add-ons or partnered software. It is a great idea to clean these up on a regular basis to keep your system running smoothly. To do this, go to your control panel and click on Add\Remove programs and uninstall anything you are not using.
